It is the winter school holidays here in Queensland and we were lucky to spend a few days at Lennox Head in northern New South Wales last week.
Winter is my FAVOURITE time of year to be at the beach
- clear flat water which is still warm enough for swimming
- sunrise is not that early so you can easily wake up before dawn (the best time of day at the beach)
- whales galore!
- if you are lucky when it is really cold you see sea mist rising off the waves as the sun comes up
The only downside… freezing your feet running over the cold sand to the ‘warm’ wet sand!
We spent most of our time at Seven Mile off leash dog beach which was a stunning beach, and one of the friendliest dog beaches we have visited. We also walked from Lennox to Boulder Beach which had a fantastic range of scenery, from forest to cliffs to rocky beaches.
Enjoy these pics from Lennox Head!
