Winter on the Sunshine Coast is a magical time of year, and early morning beach visits are incredibly rewarding.

On this particularly cold morning in late June, the sea temperature was much warmer than the air, creating an ethereal sea mist. The drama was highlighted by the glow of the rising sun.

It was so cold though my hands went numb and I dropped my lens cap in the sand twice – oops!
