    Small worlds Part I

I have discovered a new photographic obsession – somewhat abstract macro photos, recreating the small worlds that exist if only you take the time to look. These photos were taken recently at Uepi, Solomon Islands – as I’m on a steep learning curve with my underwater setup some of them are the result of happy…

    Beneath a wave – Part I

As part of my ongoing quest to get a perfect wave photo, I end up with some interesting experimental images! All of these were taken at Cylinder Beach, North Stradbroke Island – clear turquoise waters which are a dream! The first image I am particularly proud of 🙂

    Risky business

I never truly appreciated the design perfection and vivid colours of sea urchins until recently, when I had a chance to get up close while reef walking on Lady Elliot Island. An afternoon at Mudjimba

I’ve just spent the long weekend up on the Sunshine Coast and visited my regular beach – Mudjimba. Weeks of rough weather have caused a lot of erosion, leaving steep sand cliffs and exposing the most coffee rock I’ve ever seen. The sea shapes the rock into the most unusual forms which makes for some…

    Seeing double

Here are some more photographs from my flower and pool experiments. I particularly like the first one – a darker surreal stillness. I used my macro lens for the second and third photos – it is hard to know what is real and what is a reflection. Would love to know what you think 🙂

    Float

Unfortunately I didn’t go diving over the Xmas break, as the conditions weren’t great. What I did do instead was spend time in my parent’s pool… with my camera… and flowers! Here are some of the results – I will be posting more -would love to know what you think 🙂
