Tropical North Queensland Photo Diary

An escape to tropical North Queensland was just what we needed after what felt like a very long and cold winter here in Brisbane. I have been to North Queensland a few times, but this was the first time staying mostly in Cairns and exploring the area without a car. What I discovered was a bounty of butterflies and orchids and amazing tropical plants. Oh and it was wonderfully warm!!

These are a few of my favourite photos, mostly taken at the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary in Kuranda, the Cairns Botanic Gardens, and on Fitzroy Island.

I am feeling super inspired by all this vibrant tropical nature and have lots of ideas for new art and patterns!
